What does it cost to supply the north?

Sir,
Having received my latest electricity bills from the EAC I was prompted to check their website, to find they supply electricity to the occupied areas. What is more, the price charged appears to be less than customers in the free areas are charged. It was not clear from the website if VAT is charged in the same way customers in the south have to pay.

The policy of supplying electricity to the occupied areas is a government decision — I do not wish to comment on that.

My comments are financial. What is the cost of maintaining the power lines supplying electricity to the occupied areas, and is this cost charged as an extra?

Am I alone in not wishing to subsidise the (illegal) TRNC regime in this way?
