Your holiday will be spoilt

Sir, Having visited your country again for another holiday (August 10-24) which we all enjoyed, I was somewhat concerned about the absolute lunatic motorcyclists on high performance machines racing along King George Street, from the traffic lights adjacent to Pizza Hut towards the holiday area, slowing past the police station on the right at Yermasoyia.

Might be a good idea to get the facts right

Sir, I have no desire to enter into any private war between Mr Semmens and Mr Elkis, but the latter needs to be rather more sure of what are facts and what are products of his imagination.

I've seen the best and worst of Cyprus

Sir, I refer to Nicos Elkis’ and Janet Gosling’s letters (August 31.) Nicos Elkis asks as about my credentials to speak with such authority on the Cypriot question.” As many of your readers will know, I have a unique experience of Cypriot “hospitality”, having been on the receiving end of the best and the worst Cyprus has to offer.

What is more, the price charged appears to be less than customers in the free areas are charged. It was not clear from the website if VAT is charged in the same way customers in the south have to pay.

Pressing the flesh

It’s ladies only for the new show at Limassol’s Miracle Strip Club. But how far do they go? IT IS strictly ladies only at Limassol’s first male strip club. Out of the 45 strip joints in Cyprus’ city that never sleeps, this is the one club that offers ‘equal entertainment’ for the girls. OK, it’s not the Full Monty.

The ‘light’ trap: the smokers who think they’re being healthier

SMOKING kills. Everyone knows it, including smokers. Although there are around 1.1 billion smokers in the world (about one-third of the global population aged 15 and over) there are unfortunately a great many that believe that they are ‘healthier’ smokers than others.
