Wine is the fountain of life

LIMASSOL is gearing up for its annual wine festival, now into its 42nd year, which will take place between September 2 and 14.
The town’s Mayor is promising unforgettable evenings to the thousands of locals and tourists who attend the event. On a visit to the Limassol Municipal Gardens, where the festival will be held, Mayor Demetris Kontides said the annual event upholds tradition with the motto ‘wine is the fountain of life’.
The festival will be opened at 8pm on Tuesday by Commerce and Tourism Minister George Lillikas.
The Mayor said he had also invited leaders of Turkish Cypriot opposition parties to the festival.
